Georgia parent FAQ

Quick answers before you enroll

Use these answers to decide whether Southeast Academy is the right online Christian school option for your family.

Yes. Many Georgia families use online programs as part of their home study plan. Parents should make sure they follow Georgia homeschool requirements, including filing the required Declaration of Intent and maintaining records.

Georgia home study programs should include a basic academic program with subjects such as reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science.

Georgia home study programs generally need to provide the equivalent of 180 school days, with each school day consisting of at least 4.5 hours of instruction unless the child is physically unable to comply. Southeast Academy is structured to support the 180-school-day requirement that most states, including Georgia, expect for homeschool students.

Georgia students in home study programs are generally required to take an appropriate nationally standardized test at least every three years, beginning at the end of third grade. Standardized testing is included with enrollment at Southeast Academy for grades 3–12, helping families stay on track with homeschool testing requirements and keep records for their files.

Southeast Academy offers accredited programs with teacher support and grading, including diploma-track options for high school.

Flexible pacing, optional 10- or 12-month structures, Christian curriculum, teacher support, and a program designed for at-home learning.
