Yes. North Carolina families may use a distance learning or online program as part of their home school. Southeast Academy can provide Christian curriculum, teacher support, grading, academic records, and high school transcript support, while parents remain responsible for following North Carolina homeschool requirements.

North Carolina requires you to file a Notice of Intent with the Division of Non-Public Education (DNPE), and the person providing instruction must hold at least a high school diploma or its equivalent (such as a GED). Families also keep an attendance record and disease immunization records for each student.

North Carolina home schools must operate on a regular schedule for at least nine calendar months of the year, excluding reasonable holidays and vacations. Southeast Academy is structured to support a consistent, full-year schedule so your family can easily meet this requirement.

Yes. North Carolina requires every enrolled student to take a nationally standardized achievement test each year in English grammar, reading, spelling, and mathematics, with the results kept on file for at least one year. The requirement applies once your child reaches North Carolina's compulsory attendance age of 7, regardless of grade level. Southeast Academy includes this standardized testing for grades 3–12, helping families stay on track and keep records for their files.

No. In North Carolina the Notice of Intent is a one-time filing; your home school stays open until you notify DNPE that you've closed it." (You do not need to renew the Notice of Intent every year – operation continues until the school is officially closed.)

"File before you begin and wait for DNPE's written acknowledgment before withdrawing your child. The online filing system closes briefly each spring and reopens in early July; schools may open July through April." (Notice of Intents may be submitted or filed July-April; the NOI form is unavailable in May–June.)
